With 15 years of experience, she has dedicated her career to crafting innovative strategies that engage students, especially in math—a subject often perceived as challenging or dull. Teaching at East Coloma Elementary in the rural community of Rock Falls, Illinois, Heather worked as a K-5 math interventionist and STEAM teacher, inspiring a love of learning every day. Beyond the classroom, Heather is a co-founder of the EduGuardians, a dynamic group committed to empowering educators and transforming teaching practices. Her passionate about sharing expertise, having presented at major conferences such as ISTE, FETC, and IDEAcon. Heather has also taken the stage as a keynote speaker at IETC and IGNITEND, and this March.

As an educator with over 15 years of experience, I’ve dedicated my career to crafting innovative strategies that engage students, especially in math—a subject often perceived as challenging or dull. I’ve also taken the stage as a keynote speaker at IETC and IGNITEND, and this March, I’ll join my fellow original EduGuardians for the closing keynote at MACUL in Detroit.
In addition to teaching and presenting, I’m a copy editor and interior book designer for TeacherGoals, where I help bring essential educational resources to life. Through every project, my mission remains the same: to unlock potential, inspire innovation, and ensure students and educators alike discover the joy in learning.
